From Sunrise County Architecture (2nd revised and enlarged edition) 1996, p.103: ICHABOD GODFREY HOUSE In June 1792 the Committee of the General Court of Massachusetts granted a tract ofland to Ichabod Godfrey upon which he built his house. His son Benjamin Godfrey was born in this house in 1792. This two and one-half story wo<)den clapboarded Colonial home has a rear ell and barn. The entrance on Spruce Street has a Greek Revival portico which is a later addition. AFN
