Note from Eleanor Norton, 2023: Elsie and Hilda Leland lived at the Milliken House on Washington Street in Eastport, Maine. Eleanor and Omar Norton got married in 1961. Omar Norton bought this piece and several other Mattie Waide pieces over the years from Harry Vose who used to have yard sales in front of his house on Third Street in Eastport, Maine, not far from where Eleanor and Omar Norton lived. Harry Vose was related to Elsie and Hilda Leland and he got the Mattie Waide pieces from them.
