-WASHINGTON001 Eastport Historic District From Sunrise County Architecture (2nd revised and enlarged edition) 1996, p.30: EASTPORT CUSTOMS AND POST OFFICE This granite block building was constructed in 1890-1893, and remodelled in 1974. This structure is two stories high with a three story tower, and has an ell shaped floor plan. The tower has a window in its third story with a pedimented lintel. The building stands at the corner of Water and Washington Streets, and continues to serve as Eastport's Customs House and Post Office. From Eastport Walking Tour Brochure, 2010: 3) U. S. This building and the surrounding sidewalks and grounds took three years to prepare and build, using three different contractors and granite from the Bluehill Granite Co.
