BAIT BAG KNITTING NEEDLES, C.1900! Five wooden net knitting needles that recently came into our collections. They were once used throughout this region to make lobster trap bait bags and date to the late 19th to early 20th century. The longest is 14 1/4" and the shortest is 7 1/2". They come from Machiasport, Maine. Once commonplace, they are rarely seen today.
