This federal style wood frame house likely dates to about 1840. It does not appear on the 1835 Map of Eastport, the property was deeded with building in 1843. The building was built for Darius and Hannah Pearse. Hannah Pearse was the daughter of John Shackford who owned the original large land grant lot of this part of Eastport. The house has a four bay front with an entrance on the east side. It has a gable roof with chimneys at each end.
