In an age before drones, this extremely rare photo in our collections gives a view from the steeple of the Unitarian Church on Shackford Street in Eastport, Maine. View is looking northeast and shows our Congregational Church building (center right), the back of the Washington Street Baptist Church (center) and Fort Sullivan (in distance left). In the far distance are several islands (left to right, Deer, Indian and Cherry) in New Brunswick. Photo dates to about 1890. The Unitarian Church building burned to the ground in 1946.
