Motel East | 23 Water Street, Eastport, Maine | I7-0D4-17 | District #149Entry/Object ID
149Description
This two story wood frame building was constructed in 1990. It sits on the site formerly occupied by the much larger Hotel East building that stood for much of the 20th century. The Hotel East started out as the Riverside, a businessman’s club, that was built in 1897. In 1908, it became the Riverside Hotel and later the Hotel East.
Talk with Owen Lawlor, owner of the Motel East, November 19, 2024: I had the Motel East built in 1990. I had a crew from New Hampshire build it for me.
