BOOKPLATE DESIGN, ERIC ELLIS SOLDERHOLTZ, C.1910! Bookplate in our collections for photographer and artisan, Eric Ellis Solderholtz (1868-1959) who long lived in West Gouldsboro, Maine. Born in Sweden, he came to the United States where he worked as an architectural photographer and later became primarily known as a pioneer in American garden pottery at the turn of the 20th century. He moved to West Gouldsboro, Maine in 1895 and his cottage there became known as Boreas Lodge built in 1902. We have several catalogs of his garden pottery in our collections. He also made hand hammered Arts & Crafts copper bowl and we have several examples in our collections.
