Name/Title
Adams Family Lodge | Roosevelt Campobello International Park | Campobello Island, New BrunswickDescription
"The Adams family lodge on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, was built for FDR's first cousin Ellen Delano by her husband, Fred Adams, in 1916, seen in this photograph taken in 1941. These summer cabins, built in the Adirondack style, are within a few hundred yards of the location of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt's cottage, and that of his mother, Sara Delano Roosevelt. The Adams Lodge is now operated as a Conference Center by Roosevelt Campobello International Park. Fred Adams, who enjoyed puns, called this family compound "Fir Cote" Can you see why?"
