Royal Tuscan Cup and Saucer | Micmac Indian Craftsmen | Big Cove Reserve, New BrunswickDescription
MICMAC CRAFTSMEN DESIGN, 1960s! We’ll have a exhibition beginning next August on the hugely successful “Micmac Indian Craftsmen” design collective based in New Brunswick during the 1960s. The collective designed notecards, tapestries, porcelain, and other objects and attracted an immediate following around the globe. Works in the exhibition will very largely be loans through the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton, New Brunswick that organized an original and larger exhibition on the same the subject called “Wabanaki Modern” in 2022. The exhibition has been at the Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor, Maine for much of the past year. Now a portion of the exhibition will be coming here and will include a few pieces from our own collections including this English produced Royal Tuscan china teacup with Micmac design.
