178Description
One and half story wood framed Craftsman style house built in about 1915. It appears on the 1921 Sanborn Map, but not on the 1911 Sanborn Map. As the story goes, the house was built by a wealthy investor from Massachusetts as a wedding gift to his new wife and a honeymoon cottagich which would later become their summer get away. Originally the house had a side entrance, a back entrance, and a front entrance into a mud room. Later on, the side entrance was abandoned as gravel was added for a parking area. A back porch was added and a front porch added as well. Also added was a shed dormer on the west side of the building allowing for the expansion of the upper part of the house turning it into a two-story affair. The house has a full basement which once housed an indoor-/basement well for water source.
