This one and a half story building may have started out as a temporary building on nearby Water Street following the great fire of October 14, 1886. It may have been hauled up to the top of Boynton Hill after permanent buildings were erected on Water Street. For many years it served as a small house. In about 2010, it was converted into an artist studio with the interior completely redesigned and the exterior much changed as well. It has recently been changed back to a small house.
