Friendship quilt, hand quilted, with lots of names embroidered on squares with unique colors but same pattern.

Context

Friends gathered to sew quilts. Names embroidered on this quilt show the mingling in the 1940s of Italian-Americans and others. Besides the Italian names, we see surnames Quinn, Stearns, Blake, Roby, Sutton, and White, who lived either in Tontitown or close-by communities.
