Letter addressed in brown ink manuscript to "The Governor, Deputy Governer and Directors of the Canada Company Canada House, St. Helens Place, London England, via New York"; stamped in red ink "YORK UP CAN JAN 20" and "PAID"; also stamped in black ink "PORTSMOUTH SHIP LETTER"; reverse stamped in red ink circle "F 22 FF 22 1834" and "J.H." in apparently modern green ink; missing wax seal; 1 p.; dated Jan 20, 1834.
