Land grant on vellum; manuscript and print; sealed and signed by Governor-General "Metcalfe" at upper left hand corner; document begins "Province of Canada. Victoria, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith..."; made out to "Robert Batty of the Town of Peterborough..."; reverse is also print and manuscript "Crown Sale Grant..."; dated October 29, 1845.
