Postal scale; on footed oak base with bevelled edges; two brass trays - one circular withy small edge; one rectangular and with rounded edges, marked "MADE IN ENGLAND" - each supported by two brass arms; three insets in bae for weights; centre insert bottom painted dark red; weights are all bright brass; weights are as follows: 4 oz (.2.1); 2 oz (.2.2); 1 oz (.2.3); 1/2 oz (.2.4); 1/4 oz also marked with crown and VRC (.2.5); c. 1850-1860.
