Scope and Content

Cover / Letter. One sheet of hemp or linen paper, folded rectangularly, with the left and right edges of the paper tucked under to hold the letter together. The Letter is addressed to 'J.S. Howard Esqr, PMr Toronto City' in brown ink in the top proper left on the verso of the letter cover. A round postmark in black ink is stamped in the proper right of the verso, reads 'Quebec JA 27 183'
