Description

Travelling apothecary scale. Wooden box, base and lid attached with wire hinges, has a loop and hook closure on the front of the box. The bottom of the interior of the box is lined in woven black fabric. Short wooden pieces, butt joined at an angle to create a weight compartment, in front proper left corner of the box.The set comprised of a brass balance, glass scale pans attached with green/yellow silk (?) cords. Four waffer weights; 6 grain, 5 grain, 4 grain, and 1/2.
