Description

Travelling apothecary scale. Wooden box with short wooden pieces, butt joined at an angle to create a weight compartment, in the proper front right corner of the box. Scale set includes steel balance with brass scale pans attached by green silk (?) cords. Yellow and green tassel on top of balance handle ring, brass round weights. Box lid and base are attached with wire hinges along the back edge. Metal loop and hook closure on the top of the box. Bottom of box, interior, is lined in brown velvet.
