Description

Double barreled percussion rifle with 'Green Toronto' engraved on caliber barrels. Green may possibly be Toronto's first black gunsmith. Yellow metal (brass?) cheeck piece, being a latch mechanism to possibly hold gun powder, on the right side of the stock. Engraved with an arrow through a flower, the cheekpiece indicated a sign of a well-appointed gun. While the trigger, the cheekpiece and the butt end are made of a yellow metal, the barrel itself and the external hammers are made of a denser and darker metal. The back action locks bear crescent and wave shaped engravings, while the underside of the stock is carved with a heart. As well, the rod appears to be a different wood from the stock of the gun. The left side of the stock features a raised circular wooden carving.
