Description

Wood and leather postal lap desk with key that opens the box. Inside the box has 4 compartments, with 2 compartments at the right side labelled "Postage Stamps" and "Pens". Contents in the box include: Used red sealing wax partially stamped "Sutton", two pieces of black sealing wax, bag of assorted clips and caps, used eraser printed "A.W Faber's Improved Artists' Rubber" on one side, stamp head with "C.G.H" stamped on front plate, two travelling inkwells, black vulcanized India rubber ruler with one side stamped "Goodyear's Patent 1849-1851 Poppenhusen & Konig", metal pen nib case that contains 6 pen nibs, box of pen nibs titled "100 Pens, A.W Faber" that contains 10 pen nibs, dark red pencil with ivory cap and brass tip with label "No. 3 * A.W Faber's Patent Aug. 13th 1861", and wooden straight pen with brass nib case stamped "Faber N.Y".
