Scope and Content

Invitation letter from Royal Orange Institution to Mr. Strachan, a member of the Loyal Orange Lodge No. 375. Written by Secretary M. Allen in Toronto on August 18th, 1870. The letter asks Mr. Strachan to attend a monthly meeting at Orange Hall, Church Street on Thursday September 8th, 1870 at 8:00. At the top of the invitation has title "Loyal Orange Institution, B.N.A." and under it has a print of a man on a horse and 1690 date. At the upper right corner, "LD" is written in pencil. At the bottom left corner, states "The Daily Telegraph Print", possbily can be the printing company of the invitation. A note came with the invitation, with the readable part saying "1870 M. Allen composition 19 James".
