Description

Brick salvaged by former Sand Lake Historical Society President Nancy W. Davis from the demolition of the smokestack of the Faith Mills knitting factory that produced cloth and clothing for over 50 years on Burden Lake Road in the Hamlet of Averill Park and Town of Sand Lake, NY, and currently serves as the home of the Arts Letters and Numbers Arts Collective. The brick measures approximately 9-10" by 4-6", was donated to the Town's historical collections by Nancy, and is currently prominently displayed on a shelf in the Town Historian's Office. Per current Town Historian Robert Moore, Nancy occasionally stops by his office to amusingly check on the status of "her" donated brick.
