Scope and Content

Collection of disjointed handwritten notations of cemetery, grave, and headstone locations and epitaphs reportedly collected by professional genealogist Charlotte Luckhurst (best known and searched as Charlotte Tayor Luckhurst) in the 1920s and 30s. Donated to SLHS by the Rensselaerville Historical Society in 2017 per the included transmittal letter. While likely of marginal use as compared to modern on-line services such as find a grave or ancestry sites, they may offer some useful information to those particularly familiar with the history of Sand Lake. The records are stored the mailing envelope pictured below and SLHS File Cabinet 5 - Drawer 2. Charlotte published several important genealogical compilations per the references cited in the weblinks portion of this entry.
