Scope and Content

Sand Lake Historical Society File Cabinet 4 (SLHS-FC4) Drawers 1 to 4 (D1 to D4). Cannot lock for lack of a key. Primarily stores SLHS stationery and miscellaneous supplies. Physically located in the NY State Police side rear entrance to the Sand Lake Town Library near the large SLHS in-wall display. Its general contents include: - SLHS-FC4 D1: SLHS stationery, sheet protectors, and a wooden "Donations" sign, which was apparently used at one time to solicit donations during SLHS events. - SLHS-FC4 D2: Stores about 14 binders. The first 8 binders store copies of SLHS newsletters (Historical Highlights and predecessor versions) and clippings and photocopies of SLHS program presentation announcements from 1974 to approximately 2000. SLHS recently uploaded PDFs of all of its newsletters from 1974 to present to its Internet site. The last 6 binders store various history-related newspaper clippings from publications located throughout the Capital District and are of little interest to SLHS. All 14 binders were compiled by Sand Lake Town Historians rather than SLHS and donated to SLHS by Town Historian Robert Moore in 2021. - SLHS-FC4 D3: Stores SLHS stationery (envelopes, letterhead, etc.), gift bags, and SLHS Logo stickers for identifying items like the one that appears on the front of the cabinet. - SLHS-FC4 D4: Stores decorative table bunting and disposable tablecloths, SLHS stationery, colored construction paper, and unused hanging folders. - SLHS-FC4 Top: SLHS has two large boxes of party supplies (cups, plates, and plastic silverware), an obsolete HP inkjet printer, 50/50 drawing basket, and a Kodak carousel 35mm slide projector stored in a Smith Carona typewriter case stored (piled) on top of SLHS-FC4. See below for photos of the slide projector.
