Town Hall Foyer Renovation, Fall 2022Entry/Object ID
2021.2.81Scope and Content
This entry documents renovation of the main entrance to the Sand Lake Town Hall and its historic displays by Town of Sand Lake Historian Robert (Bob) Moore during the Fall of 2022. Specifically, Bob removed everything from the main entrance, repainted all of its walls, cleaned and replaced its two major displays of artifacts (the Sand Lake Springs Water dispenser and Elmer E. Reichard, M.D., displays), rearranged and updated its historic wall displays, and created two new temporary showcase displays. Most of the wall displays have already been documented in the Town Hall Photos, Plaques, Paintings, and Furniture folder of this system. Thus, check that folder for more information regarding anything that might be of particular interest. Same with the Sand Lake Springs and the Dr. Reichard displays which are already documented in the Town Hall and SLHS Historic Displays folder of this system. The new temporary displays consist of various photos and items donated by descendants of the Averill family which will eventually be more fully documented in this system. This entry primarily documents Bob's extra efforts to renovate the entrance way which were truly way over and above the call of duty for any Town Historian.Cataloged By
