PDF transcript of a November of 1994 taped interview of Marie Beck, wife of Carl Beck, by Diane Freeman regarding the Beck family's fern harvesting activities on Taborton Mountain which grew into a rather large regional business that seasonally employed numerous fern pickers. The ferns were typically used in floral arrangements particularly during holiday seasons. The interview inspired a Fall of 1995 SLHS Historical Highlights article which is also included in this entry. The full PDF can be downloaded while fully logged into the system. Hard copy is available in the, "Carl Beck Fern Prospecting - Oral History" folder that is stored in drawer 2 of SLHS File Cabinet 1 per the included photo of the folder tab.
