PDF transcript of a November of 1994 taped interview of Marie Beck, wife of Carl Beck, by Diane Freeman regarding the Beck family's fern harvesting activities on Taborton Mountain which grew into a rather large regional business that seasonally employed numerous fern pickers. The ferns were typically used in floral arrangements particularly during holiday seasons. The interview inspired a Fall of 1995 SLHS Historical Highlights article which is also included in this entry. The full PDF can be downloaded while fully logged into the system.
