Belinda Sanford 1823 Isaac Watts Psalms of David HymnalDescription
1923 printing of, "The Psalms of David - Imitated in the Language of the New Testament and Applied to the Christian State and Worship," which Isaac Watts, DD, translated, authored, an organized over a period of 19 years in the late 18th through early 19th centuries. This popular classic work remains in paperback print to this day (2022) per Amazon Books and was once owned by Ms. Belinda Sanford of Sand Lake, NY, per its 1831 inscription. The Smithsonian Institution maintains a vintage copy like the one displayed along with a description of Watts' contributions per the weblinks portion of this entry. While not extremely rare given its popularity, vintage copies in this condition were selling for at least $90 to well over $250 via on-line auction sites as of 2022. The book's strikingly small and thick dimensions (4 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches) also make it relatively rare and unusual. The book is locked in a fire-resistant container at Town Hall and available for review upon request.Cataloged By
