Scope and Content

Thirty-three-page PDF of agreements and accounting related to: - Two 1898 agreements to establish the West Sand Lake Driving Association (see page 3 of the PDF) and its officers and reserve the outermost lane of (presumably) the Younghans' racetrack that once stood near the current Miller Hill Elementary School for bicycle driving for a fee of fifty cents per year (see page 25 of the PDF); - A 1912 agreement to rent use of the historic 130-acre Fayette Thomas farm to Harvey G. Higgins (see page 29 of the PDF), and; - A 1913 agreement between Fayette and Ada Thomas and Arthur C. Furguson to rent a boathouse and ice harvesting boats and facilities to Arthur provided he served no intoxicating drinks and ran a respectable establishment. In addition, the ledger lists Thomas/Higgins farm receipts and expenses from 1902 to 1945 on pages 4 to 24 of the PDF. This entry also includes some Thomas Farm-related photos. Refer to the example pages provided below for a better idea of the ledger's content. The PDF is downloadable while fully logged into the system. A much higher resolution PDF is stored off-line and available upon request under the file name: 1898-1945_Thomas_Furguson_&_Higgins_Farm_Ledger_&_Leases_Hi_Res.pdf The original ledger is stored in a locked fireproof safe at Town Hall.
