Army-Navy E-Award Press Release and DescriptionEntry/Object ID
2021.3.103Description
13-page PDF of a December 5, 1945, press release by the War Department explaining that only the top five percent of all WWII-related industries received an Army - Navy E (for excellence) award for at least 6 months of sustained superior service with additional stars for additional periods of up to several years of superior service. Faith Mills received three stars, which was just below the maximum possible of four stars, and obviously placed it well into the top 1-2 percent of awarded industries. SLHS curator Mike Perry found the release via an Internet search while researching the Faith Mills production award. Refer to the web links of this entry for additional information.
