Page Protector 1 - Plank Road Stock Certificate: July of 1850 certificate noting the sale of 10 shares of capital stock in the Albany and Sand Lake Plank Road Company to John Wilder.  A  note on the back (available upon downloading the PDF)  by subsequent owner Thomas Olcott (1795-1880) indicates the certificate was, "worthless."  Douglas W. Olcott eventually gifted the certificate to Clayton L. Besch when he bought a home on Parker Road in West Sand Lake in 1966.  Clayton donated the item to SLHS in 2006. Description

Binder storing miscellaneous small publications, artifacts and photos that have been donated to SLHS in acid-free wrappings and pocket protectors (PP). These entries may appear within other logically related portions of this site, but are physically stored in this binder. For example, the following items are located in other sections: - The Troy and NE Railroad Booklet (PP#5), A Brief History of Sand Lake (PP#6), Historic Town Barn on Eastern Union Turnpike (PP#7), and TOSL Bicentennial Program (PP#8) publications are saved in the Publications and Recordings folder of this site; - The Paris in the Springtime Averill Park High School Play Program and some award ribbons (PP#9) are stored the APHS entry in the Schools folder of this site; - A handwritten summary of TOSL Veterans (PP#10) in located in the Military folder; - A SLHS Bicentennial calendar and other archival copies of periodically published SLHS calendars (PP#11) are stored in other sections as appropriate, and; - An Eddie's Apple Cider sign and Walter I Nash Automotive Insurance envelope (PP#12 and 13) are stored in the Business folder.
