1800's Mushroom Musket Ball

Context

The mushroom musket ball was found while metal detecting along the beach in the vicinity of Beach Area One, Wasaga Beach, Ontario. The origin of the musket ball and how and when it came to be deposited in the area is unknown. The musket ball is similar to the ammunition used for a .44 Caliber Colt Dragoon army pistol. The pistol was designed in the United States in the 1850's.
