The black and white photo, by Pageant Photos, is of Diane (Geddes) More Adamson with her first husband by the last name "More". Diane's second husband was Donald Adamson. The photo has damage on the bottom half of the photograph. The beige/light yellow card stock folder with musical instruments and "Palace Pier" printed in large script letters, and "TORONTO, ONT." in smaller all capitals with location and services available also printed, holds the photo.
The postcard of three couples dancing at the Dardanella with an orchestra in the background includes Diane Geddes Adamson who is the dancer on the right side of the photo. This picture can also be seen in "Wasaga Saga" by Thelma Morrison on page 57. On the back of the postcard, in dark blue print, at top left reads: On "The Largest & Safest Fresh Water Beach in the World" THE DARDANELLA BALLROOM WASAGA BEACH . ONTARIO . CANADA Nightly Dancing . Bowling. Snack Bar. Gift Shop, Visit the "Driftwood" Dining Room. The card is divided in half by a vertical line of text that reads: "EXECUCOLOR" 1603 The Queensway, Toronto. Close to the bottom center of the card, text in 3 horizontal lines reads: Photo, Ron Balaam, 14041-A. The stamp box is outlined by a square line of dots with the word STAMP inside. The word POST CARD is located just under and to the left of the stamp box.
James B. Adamson (Jimmy) and Muriel Adamson owned Elm Park Cottages located at the corner of Zoo Park Road and River Road West, Wasaga Beach. The cottage court had 4 cottages in total. The original log cottage which still contained original beams was later refinished in stucco and was destroyed by fire a few years ago. The house located at 637 River Road West, which sat in front of the original cottage and which also was destroyed by fire in the past few years, was also part of the cottage court but was renovated to be a larger home. Jimmy also operated the first garbage collection in Wasaga Beach. Jimmy passed away in 1962.
Jimmy and Muriel Adamson had 6 children, Dorothy, Evelyn, Eric, Ruth, Bernard and Donald. Donald Adamson married Diane (Geddes) More Adamson. (Diane's first husband was More). Donald passed away in 2009 and Diane passed away in 2023. Deanna Adamson is granddaughter of Jim and Muriel Adamson and daughter of Diane and Donald Adamson.Acquisition
