The printed card describes Azumakit Lodge as follows:
"The AZUMAKIT LODGE was built by the late JOHN SHEFFER of Stayner, Ontario, in 1919. It was used as a family retreat and large enough to provide tourist accommodations. As a result, many long lasting friendships prevailed, some becoming family. The Lodge is still in it's original condition today and is maintained by MABEL (SHEFFER) KENNEDY AND HER SISTER MARY (SHEFFER) GAUGHAN, daughters of the original building & owner."
