The photograph is from the Wasaga Beach School in 1961. The school is now the Town of Wasaga Beach Municipal Office at 30 Lewis Street.
One of the individuals in the photograph recalls:
"When I went there, we used to have music lessons in the basement.
Grades 1-4 were on the right side as you walk in from Lewis St. (no second floor above it back then)
Grades 5-8 were up the stairs where the motorcycle is now.
This pic was all of the upstairs classes and was taken when I was in Grade 7.
I graduated in 1962."
As noted on the back of the photograph, the teacher for Grades 1,2,3 and 4 was Mrs. Olives. The teacher for Grades 5,6,7 and 8 was Mrs. Downer.
