Dinosaur Valley, owned by the Rainbow Hills Development Company, opened on June 21, 1980. Located across the road from the old Wasaga Stars Arena, eight acres of woodland and natural sand dunes provided the setting for half hour tours back in time to the Mesozoic Era. Dinosaur Valley offered "The Dinosaur Walk - over 20 prehistoric creatures in natural settings....For example, the Wooly Mammoth, an elephant-like giant with tusks 8 to 10 feet long...or the Triceratops, 30 feet long, with 3 horns and weighing about 10 tons", mini golf, known as Safari Golf, remote-control boats, a gift shop, snack bar and an outdoor terrace. Rainbow Hills Development Company filed for bankruptcy and the site disappeared in 1983.Acquisition
