The Dyconia Villa was built and opened as a summer lodge by Mary Dyce (also known as Ma Dyce) in 1923. A main dining room was built in 1946. Additional rooms were also added. In 1952, the Dyconia was purchased by Mr. & Mrs. Jack Huthinson. After extensive renovations and additions, in 1963, the Dyconia became a year round hotel with two licensed bars and a dining room offering entertainment and accommodation. The Dyconia opened the first swimming pool in Wasaga Beach that same year. The Dyconia became a year round resort in the late 1970's with modernized rooms, cabins and mini condos added. The Dyconia was sold in 2008. The Dyconia was located at 381 Mosley Street along the Nottawasaga River. The location continues to offer accommodation.Acquisition
