The Fairwasa was located on the beachfront east of the main beachfront toward the Point - the location where the mouth of the Nottawasaga River meets the Nottawasaga Bay. As noted on the 1939 map included, the exact location was between what was then Cedar Street and Elm Street. The Fairwasa location is included on Chamber of Commerce maps dated 1933, 1939 and 1953.
The photos contained in the Garvey collection were photographed and developed by Frank Garvey, Maple Leaf Film Service. Frank arrived in Wasaga Beach in 1929 and opened his photography business operating from two tents on the beachfront. In 2000, the collection was donated to the Archives by Judy Garvey.
