Located at 620 River Road West, the retail convenience store and dry cleaning store at one time had gas pumps and was a ticket agency/bus stop for Grey Hound Bus Lines. Beginning in 1990, there was also a small post office at the location.
The first owners of the location were Fred & Helen Pavelin of Elmvale. The location was known as Pavelin's Marketeria. Helen's brother and sister-in-law were Jack and Rita McLean. The McLean family built several hotels at Wasaga Beach including the Capstan Inn and the Dardanella.
In 1978, Pavelin's was purchased by Richard and Joan Gatheral. The location's name changed to Gatheral's Lucky Dollar and was purchased by James Stewart "Jim" Douglas and his wife Joan in 1983. Mr. & Mrs. Douglas continued to own the location for approximately 20 years.Acquisition
