Context

Grouch No Longer Boarding Lodge/log cabin was located on Van Vlack Road (now River Road East). It was located on the right-hand side of the road and approximately 1/4 mile from the Main St Bridge. Grouch No Longer visitors were served tea on the lawns of the lodge. Teacup reading and palmistry readings were also offered by Madam Larkin and Madam Sheward claiming they could solve the problems of health, love, finance and help locate missing articles. The photos contained in the Garvey collection were photographed and developed by Frank Garvey, Maple Leaf Film Service. Frank arrived in Wasaga Beach in 1929 and opened his photography business operating from two tents on the beachfront. In 2000, the collection was donated to the Archives by Judy Garvey.
