The Kawartha Lodge was located on Mosley Street where the Playland Parking lot exists and beside what is now Lakeview Motel. The lodge is shown on the 1933 Wasaga Beach included and can also be seen on a 1953 map. The lodge was eventually torn down and replaced by the Kawartha Motel.
The photos contained in the Garvey collection were photographed and developed by Frank Garvey, Maple Leaf Film Service. Frank arrived in Wasaga Beach in 1929 and opened his photography business operating from two tents on the beachfront. In 2000, the collection was donated to the Archives by Judy Garvey.
