Context

The book provides a historical account of the schooner Nancy's activities during the War of 1812 with a focus on the year 1813. Entries from the ship's log detail the Nancy's role in transporting troops and supplies, naval operations and daily operations during the conflict between United States and Great Britain. Chapters in the book include: 1) Of the Sorry Assault Upon Fort Stephenson 2) Of the Gallant Fight in the Saint Clair River 3) Of the Battle With Lake Huron 4) Of Winter Quarters in the Wilderness 5) Of the Men of the Nancy and How They Fared Copy of a letter, dated October 6th, 1814, from M. Worsley to his father describing the sinking of the Nancy and the capture of the American Schooners Tygress and Scorpion.
