Context

The picture showing Main Street, Wasaga Beach, Ontario with the beachfront in the distance, was photographed in 1933. An individual riding a horse, pedestrians, a person riding a bicycle along with vintage cars parked and driving are seen. There are businesses along both sides of the street. Hydro poles are also visible on both sides of the street. The photos contained in the Garvey collection were photographed and developed by Frank Garvey, Maple Leaf Film Service. Frank arrived in Wasaga Beach in 1929 and opened his photography business operating from two tents on the beachfront. In 2000, the collection was donated to the Archives by Judy Garvey.
