Gordon Gough, owner of Gough Dry Wall and Services and G&D Construction, received an Ontario Renews Award from the Ontario Ministry of Housing in 1986, for his work on Mosley Place, located at 3071 Mosley St.
Gord, a drywaller, was the first person in the area to win the award, competing with 100 engineers and architects to win the award. The location, originally the location of a sawmill and then a lumber yard, Beach Builder Supplies, was turned into a 10 unit complex with one and two bedroom apartments. The project took 13 months to complete at a cost of $285,000. It was made possible through the convert-to-rent program of the ministry of municipal affairs and housing. It began in 1980 and the value of the project is $120,000, with provincial government contributions of $7,000 per unit.Acquisition
