From documentation contained school photo album:
“Oxbow Park School was built in 1956, with many attending students transferring from the Wasaga Beach School. It is located on land backing onto both 39th and 40th Streets and has had several additions built since the 1960’s, including 6 classrooms, library, and enlarged gym and new administrative offices. Oxbow Park School twinned with Byrnes Avenue School from 1974-78, to enable the sharing of facilities. In 1979, the schools separated, only to be twinned again, with Oxbow Park School renamed Worsley Elementary school in 1994. The school is still thriving today with a fluctuating student population of over 500 students.”
From documentation contained in school photo album:
“Baywood Public School was originally called S.S. #20A, Twp of Nottawasaga. It was located on the east side of what is now called Fairgrounds Road, next to the old Collingwood Drive-In. It was a standard 2 classroom public school. When Baywood Public School was closed in 1971, students were sent to Byrnes Avenue School and Byng Elementary School in Stayner. The property was subsequently purchased by the Manito Shriners’ Club and the building still exists today.”Acquisition
