Context

A framed copy of a newspaper article, written by Mary Watson, Town Archivist and Author, about the history of motorcycle racing on the beach in the 1930's and 1940's. The article details history of the Canadian and American Motorcycle Associations and documents race results and accomplishments of motorcycle racers. Memories of longtime local resident, Ella Edwards, are also included along with the mention of the Normandie Lodge and Dyconia Hotel as accomodation for racers and spectators. Contributions to the article were made by Vada Seeds, director of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Museum and the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame, Betty-Lou (Ashleigh) Low and Ella Edwards.
