The round musket ball was found while metal detecting along the beach in the vicinity of Beach Area One, Wasaga Beach, Ontario. The origin of the musket ball and how and when it came to be deposited in the area is unknown. Although not confirmed, the musket ball is similar to those used in the Land Pattern "Brown Bess" musket; a .75 caliber rifle commonly used during the War of 1812.Acquisition
