Each ivory/white souvenir plate is imprinted in the colour burgundy with a circular image featuring scenes from the H.M.S. "Nancy", Wasaga Beach Historic Main Street, Martyr's Shrine, Midland and Blue Mountain. The decorative edges of the plates are trimmed with 22K gold. The back of each plate has an emblem stamped in gold that includes a maple leaf with "DECORATED IN CANADA" imprinted across the leaf in a small banner. Below the maple leaf emblem reads "22 K GOLD". Pieces of china were often imported and then decorated with gold and other details within Canada. China was decorated with 22k gold in Canada for items like commemorative plates for special occasions or events.Acquisition
