Context

The International Silver Stick Association was founded in 1957 by Jack Kinsella, inspired by the early 1900s Ottawa Silver Seven hockey team with the first tournament held in 1958. The Silver Seven were the professional name for the Ottawa Hockey Club, which won the 1903 Stanley Cup. The first Silver Stick Tournament in Wasaga Beach was held in 1973. The souvenir booklet featured is from the second annual tournament held at the original Wasaga Stars Arena. The booklet includes ads from area sponsors. The International Silver StickĀ® Hockey Association provides hockey opportunities for boys and girls hockey teams operating within the framework of Hockey Canada or Hockey USA. Based on a series of regional tournaments, identify regional champions are identified and move on to compete against each other in age and skill appropriate International Finals Tournaments.
