The photograph of Sunnidale Apartments is dated 1933. Sunnidale Apartments were located in Oakview Beach, on the beachfront, on the east side of Sunnidale Ave. The two-storey building had large windows across the front of the apartments and windows that wrapped around the corners. The proprietor of the building was F. H. Wadell. Sunnidale Appartments can be found on a 1961 Foreman’s Resort Guide map with business licenses renewed from 1969 to 1973 under the name of Mr. Dmetrie.
The photos contained in the Garvey collection were photographed and developed by Frank Garvey, Maple Leaf Film Service. Frank arrived in Wasaga Beach in 1929 and opened his photography business operating from two tents on the beachfront. In 2000, the collection was donated to the Archives by Judy Garvey.
